Meet the Artist, Robert Morrissey
My career began when I was four and picked up my first crayon, it felt exciting. All through grade school and high school no art classes were offered, so my first experience with art in a class was at the college level. Even though there were no classes I continued to experiment with different media on my own. I designed images for jackets and T-shirts along with posters. I started college but I had to drop out because I couldn't afford it. After working two years I went away to school and took all the art classes I could. After getting my degree's in art education and art studio, I decided to take a college position in Florida. . The experience was ideal for me because it left me plenty of time to paint. I did many art shows both indoor and outdoor. I started with traditional painting which led to large abstracts. I enjoy all subject matter and also a variety of styles. My teaching experience helped my art work and my art work helped my teaching.
